Q: What is artwork, why do you need it?
A: Artwork is your logo presented to us in a format that we could replicate exactly as it should be. That way, your identity to your customers is consistent across everything that you have.
Q: What formats do you need?
A: We need editable artwork in a vector or postscript format. We work in Corel draw but can use other formats as well.
Q: What are the acceptable formats?
A: Logos created in Corel draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), or eps files. If your logo was originally created in .ai then it must be exported as a version 7 file as this is cross program compatible. .eps files created in .ai also need to be exported as v7.
Q: I have our image as a jpg, will that do?
A: Sorry but 'no', we can use it as a basis for digitising embroidery but otherwise we need editable art work in one of the formats above.
Q: I don't understand any of these terms, what can I do?
A: Relax, although you may not have it to hand, someone in your company will. Failing that, the graphic artist who created your logo will have it in the format that we need. The printer that does your letterheads and other stationery may have it as well.
Q: My logo needs to be redone, or I want to add something to it. Can you help with that?
A: Yes we can, our graphic artist charges on a per piece basis, the rate is £45.00 per hour. Small jobs can be done with a £25.00 charge.
Q: How do I send you Artwork?
A: Simply attach to an email addressed to info@impresssurrey.co.uk
Q: What is the difference between bitmap and eps Logo Artwork file types?
A: Bitmap images are defined by a precisely "mapped" collection of individual dots or pixels of various colours. EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) files define graphics using mathematical algorithms that allow for scaling and modification without much loss of image resolution.
